Kay Bee Mangoes began its journey in 1989, founded by Mr. Prakash Khakhar with a vision to bring the finest Indian mangoes to the world. Starting from the lush orchards of India, we have grown to become the largest air-freight exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables to Europe, and now, we are proud to bring our premium mangoes to the United States. Our commitment to quality is unwavering. We utilize a unique Integrated Business Model (IBM) that combines self and co-farming practices, ensuring that all our produce meets the highest standards of food safety and sustainability.     Our Integrated PROCESS

    Self and Co-Farming

    At Kay Bee Mangoes, we utilize a combination of owned and leased farms, along with partnerships with dedicated growers. This collaborative approach, known as co-farming, allows us to implement the same stringent food safety measures across all our operations. 

    Organic Inputs Manufacture

    We take pride in manufacturing our own organic plant protection products and fertilizers. Utilizing plant-based extracts rigorously tested by our in-house R&D labs, we ensure their efficacy and safety. Over 90% of our agricultural inputs are now organic and self-manufactured.

    State-of-the-Art Packhouses

    Our network includes five strategically located packhouses, providing easy access to major airports. These packhouses are constructed to international standards, equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure.

    Own Fleet of Vehicles

    To ensure the optimal transportation of our produce, we operate a fleet of over 50 vehicles, including refrigerated trucks for farm-to-airport delivery.

    Airline Freight Forwarding

    Recognizing that air-freight is a significant cost element, we have invested in our in-house IATA-accredited freight forwarding department. This allows us to manage all our air-freight bookings internally, handling over 7,000 tons annually. 

    Distribution in the US

    For our key market in the United States, we have a dedicated headquarters in the US, providing seamless import and distribution services.

    How do we maintain quality?

     

    At Kay Bee, we uphold the highest standards in maintaining the quality of our mangoes through meticulous storage practices. We never refrigerate our mangoes, instead, we maintain an optimal temperature range of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius throughout the supply chain. When transportation necessitates the use of refrigerated trucks, we take precautionary measures such as wrapping pallets in thermal blankets to minimize temperature fluctuations. Ventilation is paramount in preserving freshness, so we ensure adequate airflow around each fruit by stacking boxes properly and opting for pallet loading over container loading. Upon arrival, immediate handling and chimney stacking of mango boxes facilitate the release of trapped heat, preserving the fruit’s integrity. Our commitment to swift shipment clearance further safeguards freshness, guaranteeing that our customers receive the finest quality mangoes with every order.
